Physical Needs Assessments
A Physical Needs Assessment (PNA) is a long-range planning tool. The assessment outlines the anticipated capital needs of a public housing development and the estimated cost per year to complete this work. The typical term of a PNA is twenty (20) years. In addition to predicting the capital needs, the report may also suggest ways to increase the useful life of a component, reduce maintenance issues, reduce life cycle costs, and increase energy efficiency. A PNA may be used by the housing authority, HUD, or entity for, renovation or preservation of a public housing development
